Your Privacy as a Carbide.com Customer
At various places in our website we request information. The specific use of this information is explained in the sections below. In general, we regard it as our responsibility to safeguard personal information. We vigorously protect customer data from unauthorized access, and we do not sell or share the data with other companies or individuals for any reason. Should you, at any time wish to have all personal information deleted from our records, we will do so promptly.

The only information we automatically retrieve from your computer system is your browser type and Internet(IP) address. We use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server and to tune our website for the browsers most often used by visitors.

The login information we request is an e-mail address and a password chosen by you. We really just need a unique word composed of up to 30 letters and numbers so that we can keep shopping cart information and personalized machinery lists from being confused with other users' information. Instead of an e-mail address you could make up a User Name. If it is not unique in our system we will prompt you to select a different User Name.

At the time you give us an e-mail address, or at any time later, you may "Opt-out" of receiving promotional notices.

Our site's registration form asks users to give us names, billing, shipping and additional contact information. This information is required for making purchases. We need to know where and to whom we are shipping merchandise, and how it is going to be paid for. We may also need to contact you with a question or information about your order. All of your registration information can be deleted after making a purchase, but it would have to be re-entered again for later purchases.

We do not currently make use of direct-mail advertising to our customers, and we have no plans to begin doing so. Nevertheless, users may opt-out of receiving future mailings should we later decide to use regular mail to inform you of new products or specials.
