Carbon steel multispurs are excellent for boring fast, clean holes in solid wood. Typical applications include lock and hardware installation, entry holes for pipes, etc. Can be used in drill press or hand drill. Triangular center point allows better control than threaded lead screw of 'self-feed' type bits. This type of bit will not hold a good edge when used with composites, laminates, plastic, etc. For these materials carbide-tipped bits are recommended.
